Since they secured Glenorchy Centre as home to #Wirksworth Housing Co-operative they've welcomed over 150 people to enjoy the space - from hosting musicians for a local festival; to afternoon tea with investors, friends & neighbours; to big wholesome dinners with the local queer group to kids parties.

Whilst a housing co-operative feels like an obvious way to live, the capitalist system sees equality & security as an incredibly political act.

Perennial Housing Co-op had a really lovely time staffing their first Radical Routes stall at London Anarchist Bookfair last month.

A stall also appeared at the Bristol #Anarchist Bookfair, assisted by #SumacCentre.

Could Zurich’s housing cooperatives be the solution to the rest of Europe’s housing crisis

One in every five citizens in Zurich now lives in a cooperative – meaning they have bought a share in the company that built and owns their apartment block.

This means that despite being a major global financial hub and pleasantly located on the edge of a large lake, poorer, younger people, families and students can still find somewhere they can afford in the centre of the city.
